Kind of a odd problem here on a 1989 pickup. It's a V6 Manual with automatic hubs. At some point in time the wiring harness that goes to the transmission fell on the exhaust manifold. (little plastic piece holding it in place broke) So it friend the wiring, all the way back into the main wiring harness. Thankfully (and amazingly) everything else on the vehicle still works, except it wont engage in 4WD. It will gear down like its in 4 Low but it's still in 2WD. This is a truck with about 300k on the body and probably over 150k on its second engine and it's pretty beat up and not worth replacing the whole wiring harness. So are either of these two options possible: Switch the automatic hubs for manual hubs from a junkyard? My other thought was, can I somehow put the vacum pump to the hubs on a toggle switch? Thanks for any help,
Darin
