Is there any aftermarket distributors for the KA motors? Mine has the intergrated coil in the distributor base, no external coil wire. It just seems like a lame configuration to me. What's available for retro fitting?

I won't be a big help here, since our's is not integrated - we have a separate wire - but I've found that www.rockauto.com has all kinds of parts. We have a 1990-1/2 ('not quite a '91) KA24E and are wrapping up a 'frame-off' restoration. If we didn't refurbish a part by ourselves, we ordered most of our stuff from 'rockauto' (unless, of course, it was "dealer only" type parts).
I would browse around on their site at least just to poke around. The "more info" visuals are a helpful reference.

Mallory is the only company I found making a distributor. I've had thier stuff before and it's good, but this one cost $400. Not gonna go there, guess I'll just save-up for a DE motor with ECCS.........

do you have a link to that Mallory distributor? does it claim any power/mileage gains? i plan to get a MSD box, and coil, so mabey an efficient distributor will help even more.

They have a few versions to choose from, the picture is the "generic chevy" so don't be confused.
The Nissan "built-in" coil just seems lame to me, but I can't justify $400+ for a dist. Guess I'll save a few hundred for a DE motor and solve my performance issues..................
