'90 Hardbody Interlock Switch question

'ello...

Hardbody, D21, KA24E, 4x4...

When I push the interlock switch, the brake light in the cluster goes on.

What the heck is wrong ... and how do I fix it?

(I'll owe someone a lasagna...) ;-)
