97 pu brake troubles

Ok so I installed new pads on the front of my 97 pickup. all went as usual. I used a clamp to push the caliper back in as normal. Now no brakes. I pump them up and have a petal and stopping power. When I let off and press them again no petal I have to pump them again. Replaced the master cyl. and bleed brakes same thing still. Any ideas or similar problems.

No leaks anywhere? It's not losing any fluid?

Did you bench bleed the MC?

If there aren't any leaks, it sounds like you've got more bleeding to do. I don't think I've read on this forum about people bleeding their brakes. On the Corvette forum I used to go to, the method you chose to brake bleed (power, gravity, conventional) was like choosing a religion. I always had success with the conventional two person method, but people would swear by the other methods. Oh, tapping on the calipers with a rubber hammer to dislodge any air bubbles was popular too.
