New seals and timming belt; What should it cost?

I just spoke with the Nissan Service Department in Bradenton, FL.

They quoted me for the cost of this work.

1. New front crank seal. $300

2. New timming belt with new cam seals. $700

Does this sound high to anyone? Or does the price sound right.

Very high quote and they're not combining the work, when you do the timing belt and cam seals the crank seal is right there and only runs $5 for the seal. Why in the world would it cost $300 more? I was quoted a little over $1000 for timing belt, water pump, thermostat, tensioner, cam/crank seals, all coolant hoses and drive belts.

2 quotes from 2 different Nissan dealers, both were a little over $1000.

Man am I glad I do this work myself.

I rebuilt both heads, installed performance cams, replaced the water pump, timing belt, tensioner, and all seals for half of that. Granted I got a screaming deal on teh cams, but sheesh. The timing belt takes me about 4 hours, I can't imagine paying $600 in labor for that.

The two quotes were enough to make me do it myself back in December, around $250 total for all parts mentioned above.
