1987 4x4 Starter Removal

I have a 1987 4x4 Nissan KingCab 6 cylinder automatic. The starter has just went out and the guy at the starter shop told us to be sure and remove the oil sender sensor before removing the starter. Can someone tell me where/what this is and any tricks or tips to removing the starter on this truck? It looks like it is a doozie and any help would be appreciated!!

I've replaced starters on 4 different vehicles (sorry, not a Nissan yet) and they all were pretty simple (once you could get to them). They were pretty much two bolts holding the starter on and then the wiring. The only reason I could think he'd warn you about the oil sending unit is that it may be in the way when you try to get the starter out and might get damaged.
