Timing Light

I`ve read the sticky on how to adjust your timing but now my problem is that I dont know how to use a timing light (never seen one) !What do see or look for?Can anybody maybe explain some more on whats supposed to be happening

there should be instructions on the timing light you just bough.....not literally on it but on the box or back of the packaging.

There is a block/clamp looking thing ....you'll want to attach that to the number#1 plug wire ( should be all the way left over the valve cover ).

Then ther power wires, obviously, red goes to the positive terminal on the battery and black goes to the ground, and thats pretty much it.

You want to aim it the crank pulley, and there are markers on there....even though its spinning, because the light is strobing itll make it look like its standing still....If you look at the pictures shown on how to check your timing, itll give an idea of where to place the timing light and you just kinda look through where you can....
