I'm not sure what size sockets you'll need, but you just need sockets and a hammer. To get the tie-rod end out just hit the the side of the knuckle where the tie rod end is inserted. do the same with the ball joint.

You can do it with just sockets and a hammer, but a tie rod end "pickle fork" makes life easier. I liked the one we rented from Autozone so much that we just kept it.
how about the bolts that hold the bottom of the strut. I couldn't get those off with no sockets because i tryed taking it off this past friday got as far as there and stopped. I just waiting to see if a friend of a friend well lets us borrow his air gun.

Yeah. They impact them on really tightly sometimes. Use plenty of your favorite rust breaker/penetrating lubricant and hit it with either the impact wrench or with a socket on a really long bar.
