Has anyone put a front suspension lift on their Titan? I am hearing that the 2 1/2 in. lift is somewhat suspect for the 4x4 Offroad models. Something about the Rancho shocks are malfunctioning?
one of the guys I work with put an 8" lift on his but..... I cant remember the brand name, it came out of Cali. I'll see if I can find out and let you know
The titan (4wd) is equipped with a coil-over shock type front suspension system. There are no torsion bars. SImply insert the coil spacer and it raises the front of the truck by whatever the thickness of the spacer is. The spacer basically lengthens the front shocks.
As for the 2wd trucks, i haven't paid much attention to their setup because, in my opinion, its foolish to purchase a 2wd truck, at least in my part of the country(pennsylvania) where 4wd is an absolute must for wintry conditions. I can say that they probly wouldnt have put coil-overs on the 4wd's and not the 2wd's.
Oh yeah, you can't use a coil spacer on a torsion bar suspension system, because there are no coils!!! All that is there is the shock and the torsion bar.
As for the reason that the coil spacer lift is for the front only, is basically to "level" the truck. At stock stance, the truck sits a bit lower in the front than the rear, and the coil spacer lifts the front to match the stock back height.
Hope this helps.

Right -- and I thought the Titan had a torsion bar front suspension. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for the clarification.
I would have to vote for CST, they are top quality lift kits and as an accessory, you can get FOX shocks.
The CST kit is nice. Pro-Comp has a 4WD kit out, and as soon as we send them a truck for developement, they will have a 2WD kit. The front is coil over, regardless 2WD or 4WD.
I do not have a Titan yet, but desperately want one. If i get one, I plan to install the ProComp 6" Lift, and a set of 35" tires. Does anyone know how Nissan would feel about this as far as warranty issues is concerned? Would the lift completely void my warranty? Or would it only affect things like Universal/CV Joints, Steering Components, etc...? Have never put a lift on a vehicle before and this is a major concern of mine before dropping $34k on a truck and then not have a warranty?
That's awesome. I saw one around town yesterday that had at least a 4" lift. It was the first lifted Titan I've seen. Regarding the warranty, it's my understanding that they can't void a warranty solely based on the existance of aftermarket parts. If your CV joint wears out after the truck has been lifted, I believe they'd not cover that. If your catalytic converter burns out, the lift didn't have anything to do with that, and they should honor the warranty in that instance. It's probably best to check with your dealer.
See thats exactly what I meant about the warranty, but what about something like an extra strain on the engine, transmission, etc... due to larger tires and such?

Input would be appreciated.
I put a 2.5 Daystar kit on mine. No major difference in the feel while driving. Although, it is not hard to make the upper A arm hit the top of the strut mount by going over speed bumps to quickly. I changed my driving habits a little and havent had that bang sound since.
