Purchasing a boat trailer with surge brakes to tow with my Armada. How do I tie the surge brakes into my reverse lights in order to back up the trailer without the brakes engaging. I have been told the seven pin connecter does not help with the sure brakes.

I have surge brakes on my trailer and they do not activate when you are going backwards. The brakes only activate when you brake going forward and the weight of the boat surges forward.

You shouldn't need to connect anything electrical to the brakes.
