Titan tires - very expensive!
Greetings from a new Titan owner, I've been visiting this forum and have found it very uesful and informative.
I'd like to pass along a word of caution regarding the tires, I have a Titan Crew Cab LE with Towing Pkg, Off Road Pkg, and bed extender. The off road package came with 17 inch BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires. At 800 miles I
picked up a nail, resulting in a slow leak. The Nissan dealership in Nashua, NH did not repair the tire correctly, they plugged it rather than patch it from the inside. The plug didn't take, and as a result of sticking that tool into my tire the tire is no longer repairable. These tires are VERY expensive, $245 to be exact. I foolishly assumed that they would be patching my tire from the inside. So, I wanted to pass this info along to others, if you ever need a repair DO NOT allow a plug to be used.
As an aside, I am currently embroiled in a dispute with the dealership, they are refusing to compensate me for the faulty repair. I have filed a complaint with Nissan, they are trying to resolve my claim. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I did contact BF Goodrich, and they know how to treat customers. This is not a warranty claim, tires are not covered, but they are cutting me a check for 50 per cent of the cost. You would think that Nissan would extend the same courtesy, considering that I'm a first time Nissan owner that purchased a $36,500 vehicle, maybe when all is said and done they will do just that. But I digress!
This is a great truck, I read all the pros and cons before purchasing, so there were no surpirses and this is by far the nicest vehicle I have owned. No more Chevy's for me. I do have the crappy FM radio problem, but the CD sound is awesome. One week after purchasing, three idiot lights on the dash came on (brake, slip, vdc off). This was the result of a faulty sensor which was replaced, and so far no other mechanical problems.
Back to Sox game for me.........currently getting spanked by Tampa Bay! ugh
