What's up with this? I was driving the other day and i happened to drive past one of the nissan dealerships when i happened to notice a Titan already on the Used Car Lot.
Why would this be? I've read some of the posts on this forum, and realize now that there are first time production factors that aren't that great on there, but why would it be so bad that you'd have to get rid of the car?

Who knows. Could have been a lemon. Could be a repo. Could be a dealer demo maybe? I'd guess either a trade-in or a repossessed vehicle (due to failure of payment).
This is likely "auto brokering". This is where used auto dealers, usually upscale, will buy a new vehicle and place it on an unaffiliated lot with a huge price increase. This will reap big rewards until production catches demand. They are usually referred to as mother f**kers, as they tend to cause dealers to artificially mark up prices. See Mazda Miata, as it was supposed to hit American shores at $7995 or so.

How do they tend to cause Nissan dealers to mark up their prices? Seems to me that the guy down the street selling a $40k Titan will only make it easier for me to move my stock averaging at $31k. If by "cause Nissan dealers to artificially mark up prices", you really mean "allow Nissan dealers to artificially mark up prices", well that's just part of business, honest or not. New car dealerships can be just as sleazy as used.

i've seen a titan or two on used lots over the past few weeks... it doesn't take long to get a used on out there. they are probably demo's... I know a guy that is a district sales manager for GM and he gets a new car every 3 months so if some nissan execs had titan's for 3 months and racked up 5-6k miles on them driving them around then they usually get sold as used!

alright, everyone, i went to that dealership w/ my boyfriend to test drive an xterra, and i asked the salesman why it was already on the lot. he said that a salesman owned it then he got transferred somewhere else so he traded it in for a car for better gas mileage. glad i found that out, it was bothering me. thanks for some reasons!
