The truck that I drove (test drive at a Nissan dealership) had that utility package, which included that little hidden compartment on the outside behind the left rear tire. After I opened it, it wouldn't shut. Literally had to kick the damn thing closed. The sales woman says that she's never been able to get one closed.

For starters, the subwoofer already came unbolted from the floor, the truck vibrates at 45 and again over 70. The cruise control surges when trying to shift back up to overdrive. All four tire pressures where 8 pounds over what max should be. The tailgate doesnt latch on both sides unless slammed shut, and the one thing i still have to do is raise the breather for the rearend just so I can launch my boat. I have not had any bad luck so far. But I will be checking tire pressures and take a look at that rearend breather before I get my boat out.

if the truck vibrates like that, there might be a bubble in the tire causing the vibration...or the wheels/tires weren't balanced properly.

I noticed in the pictures of your new titan you have a coin tray in the center console next to your dvd player. This coin tray is also shown in the titan litereature. My 04 LE did not come with a tray and when I inquired at my dealership they said that it was standard on the armada and a option on the titan, and priced it to me at $70. My contention was it showed it in the lliterature and never
mentioned it being a option and it should be in my truck. Was this a option in your truck or was it delivered that way? I do not have the dvd player but would like the coin tray.

I'm in the same boat.

I'm at 600 miles now on a Titan SE and I know what you mean. Since "normal" driving almost never gets me over 2000rpm I have to stomp on it every once in a while just because. Plus with all that torque, the cruise control rarely needs it to down-shift up hills (boring). Manual throttle reminds me how exciting the V8 Endurance is. That 2000rpm range sounds pretty sweet around town though. I might start running in Tow mode just to keep it there more often (hee hee).

Thumbs up titan 2004

Ok. My Canteen Green Titan Is Pretty Awsome! But There Are A Few Minor Glitches. First, I Have The Rockford Fosgate System, The Cd Player Is Great To Say The Least, The Fm Radio Is Terrible, Very Poor Reception To The Point Of Being Unusable, And The Sound Quality Compared To The Cd Is Awfull. It Almost Sounds Like The Amplifier Is Not On In Radio Mode! Now When I First Got The Truck I Had A Rattle In My Steering Wheel, Turns Out A Piece Of The Foam That Is To Keep Things Quiet Was Out Of Place. It Is Fixed And No Longer Does This. As Far As There Being A Vibration At Low Or High Or Very High Speeds, This Is The Smoothest Truck I Have Ever Run And Has No Vibrations Whatsoever! I Do Have An Annoying Clicking Sound At Idle That Can Be Heard Better From The Inside Of The Truck Than Outside. It Comes And Goes And My Dealer Has No Clue What It Is. Does Anyone Else Hear This? The Inner Fender Wells On The Front End Let A Lot Of Road Debris In The Engine Compartment. I Live In Pennsylvania And I Get A Lot Of Salt On My Engine! Gas Millage Is 16 Mpg On The Hilly Twisting Roads Of Pa! This Is Very Good For The Performance Of This Truck. It Can Only Get Better On The Flat Highways. Also This Is On 87 Octane Unleaded. The Rail Protectors For The Utility Track System Do Slide From Front To Back When Accelerating , And Visa Versa When Braking. They Hit Hard And It Leaves You Wondering, What The Heck Was That? Also The Memory Function In The Driver Seat Failed To Return 1 Time, Only Once, I Have 3.500 Miles On This Vehicle. As Far As The Brakes Go, They Are Not Bad. They Seem A Little Mushy At High Speeds To Slow The Vehicle Quickly To A Dead Stop! The Door On The Rear Fender Needs To Be Shut With Some Athority, Just Close It By Pushing On The Plastic Handle And Let It Fly Home! It Would Not Be Very Weatherproof If It Was Not Tight! And I Am Getting Very Little Dirt In Mine. I Like It For Storring The Utilitrack Cleats And Tie Down Straps. Now, I Also Am Dissapointed That I Did Not Recieve The Coin Tray In My Titan Ext Cab Le. But I Am Really Mad At Not Getting My Swiss Army Knife And Flashlight Combo That Was Shown On An Invoice In The Truck Behind The Driver Seat . I Just Happened To Find It And Along With Other Items The Dealer Checked Off. It Was Also Checked Off. But They Will Not Give It Up! And Neither Will Customer Service At Nissan! It Seams That They All Should Have One If You Look Closely, But They Are Deniying Any Involvement In This Promo Offer! Does Anybody Else Feel This Way? To Sum Up This Truck, For A Totaly New Model, So Far I Am Very Pleased. It Is A Nice Truck, It Beat Out All The Domestic Trucks And Got Me To Buy! I Drove Them All!

Chuck,
I found this info on another forum and with the part number in hand I let my dealer know mine was missing. I told them one friends was included and anothers was missing but Nissan sent him one free. With that, they are ordering me one free and will send it to me. It is standard even if some dealers try to say it's an option ($70 for a $3 piece of plastic?). The part number is 96925-7s000
Here is the link to the thread on the other forum:

I didn't bother mentioning that some poeple had to order it and pay for it and have Nissan Corporate (1-800-NISSAN1) reimburse them. I didn't like that idea.

jadcock - I hope you don't mind but I used your idea.

My Titan 4X4 indicator light looks different, but the idea is the same.

I made sure I wasn't moving when I took the picture.
