New Global Platform: Starting with the Titan and Armada!

It sounds like the new full-size Titan and Pathfinder Armada will be just the first vehicles to use the new truck platform. The new generation Frontier and Xterra will use a downsized version of the same platform. This platform sounds to be very flexible as it allows for a solid rear axle or an independent rear suspension.

The Titan and Armada styling will take me a while to get used to, but it also took me a while to get used to latest Frontier styling. So, I think that I will like the Titan and Armada as much as I currently like the Frontier. I don't need anything full-size at this point in time. However, if Nissan puts a high-tech and efficient Diesel into the Titan in 3-4 years, then I will be the one of the first in line to buy one.

What do you guys think?

Autoweek magazine has this article online:

BTW, we will see the Titan CrewCab and the Pathfinder Armada at the end of this week from the New York International AutoShow.

Regards,

Well, the Armada SUV and the Titan Crewcab just showed up. You can see some small pictures of these things at www.autoweek.com NY AutoShow page, or at www.nissanusa.com. BTW, you can already configure/build yourself a Titan at nissanusa.com. And there are so many new vehicles coming out from nissan that their homepage cannot accomodate all of them. That is crazy!

Man - I really like that crew cab. If I had the $$ and was in the market, that's what I'd be looking at.

Thanks again for keeping us posted!!

Arrow

I saw one of these for the first time at the beginning of this month. I walked out of the new Borders Books & Music store in Clifton Park, NY ... and there it was, right up front.

Gosh this thing was enormous! I'm not an SUV fan so I wasn't really up to speed as to what was coming out so I couldn't tell what it was until I looked over pretty thoroughly.

I thought it was a pretty good lookin' beast. But I haven't seen one since.

Anyway, if anyone wants pics or specs, here's the factory site:
