Hi again , has anyone installed an after market tranny cooler? If so , what brand and where did you mount it , and at what point in this funky cooling system did you hook it in , plus any troubles or tips?
I was told that nissan doesn't have a OEM tranny cooler that I can buy and install.
But I have found that my dealer has folks running the parts counter that don't seem to know it all.
Plus I've seen some models with the word "endurance" on them .... what is this all about?
As for an OEM tranny cooler, the Titan/Armada does have a built in tranny cooler which is done via the radiator. As for the word "Endurance", this is what Nissan named the motor, just like Ford has the Triton V8 and Dodge has the Hemi. The 04's had the Endurance badge where as the 05's + just say V8 Titan on the doors.
Thanks for the info about the endurance name , it had me wondering.
It also appears that the titan has a small external tranny cooler , but for piece of mind when towing , I'd like to hook up an aftermarket tranny cooler.
Actually the little cooler you see between the grill and the AC condensor/Radiator is the power steering cooler - if thats the little cooler you're referring to.
The titan does have an additional tranny cooler besides the radiator. Dont bother with aftermarket. Its hard to see, is on the opposite side as the power steering cooler and between the a/c condenser and the rad.

yes this is a tranny cooler , and I am wondering why I should not bother with an aftermarket tranny cooler. I live in PA where there are a few sttep climbs and a long haul to erie.
you shouldnt need one. the titan is well equiped with two tranny coolers from the factory. If its going to make you sleep better, go ahead and install another one. Mount it in front of the condensor, and just tap the lines into the current lines. Install is simple.
