I have a problem with the tires of a Nissan Frontier 300Tdi (produced in Thailand!).
First of all an experienced driver notices a bit of unbalance but it is not affecting the steering a lot. Furthermore one hears in the lower RPMs a noice which is a bit rough like there is something with the traction (dry) but for sure not notable by "nor,al" drivers.
The front wheel tires are worn out in a way that you see hand-palm wide marks diagonal from the inside of the weel under an angle of about 30 degrees uo to the outside of the wheel.
The local garage says that these Nissan's has a weak front-suspension and these has to be replaced by tougher ones. The mileage of the car is around 50.000 kms.. I blame it to whole steering and lining system.
But I am not a real technicien and I don't trust this judgement.
Can somebody give me an advice because in this country (Thailand) someone with specific problems is a bit lost, even in the big city.
I've never heard of a Nissan having a weak front suspension... sounds kind of suspicious.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the marks on your tires, but I usually attribute strange wear to under or overinflated tires, not a weak suspension. Especially after 31,000 miles.
In the end, don't pay too much attention to me. I don't know much.

well, at least I'm sure you know more than I do. It is difficult to describe the state of the tires, but I have never seen this before! It is a pity that I cannot send a photo in this forum. Overinflated tyres might be possible. Anyway, I shall avoid this Thai "specialist"!
Hmm... it's really tough to tell from here. I do know it's close to time for new tires... it looks like those have spun a time or two.
Yes, but I don't know. Only almost impossible seing the traffic jams in and around Bangkok. When one start spinning it will not only be the tires which are suffering. It is a strange situation but I should say surely not caused by "weak" front-suspension.
The weak suspension statement sounds like bs. What is a "weak" suspension anyway? From what I see the tires are very worn. The patches of tread that are worn less could just be from manufacturing, or maybe from being out of balance. Get new tires, get them balanced, and get an alignment. Problem should be solved. With that low of miles there should be no other problems.

Thanks for your reply.
The tires are a local brand so..... We'll buy Michelin. The wheels were well balanced, so I think an alignment is important as well.
You're welcome..glad to help. Your tire shop should balance them when installing new tires. They should also ask you if you want an alignment...say yes.
