Tires- I need tires!

Well, the time has come. I had my car inspected and one of my front tires is about as bald as it can get and still squeak through the inspection. So.....
I need to shell out for 2 tires. All I can afford right now is to just get 2 at a time. So, here's the one's I'm thinking about. Anyone know cheaper prices, or Chad, is this something you can beat the price on through your shop?

Yokohama YK420
P215/50R-17 93V XL B (43969)
$126.00 each

Continental Extreme Contact
P215/50R-17 90W BSW (26457)
$125.99 each

Kumho Ecsta 711
P215/50R-17 91H BSW (33230)
$104.99 each

Ideally, I want some low-profile tires like Kong has on his Trix. But since I can't buy 4 at once, can I even do this without jacking up the alignment/shocks? I can't spend more than 200 for 2 tires, either. Unless, somebody can get me a VERY sweet deal on 4 tires all together for under 350-ish. They would have to be really good ones, though, and not a generic/off brand. I'm clueless about tires. Can you tell? I have to get them before January though, otherwise I can't even drive my kid around in my car.

Advice? Help?

Manda

You can call my buddies @ Mill Street Tire in Lewisville. They can usually beat Discount Tire anyday. 972-221-4095

Whenever I need tires, I always go to Ebay first.
Check these out:

Thanks guys. I don't really know much about the brands, which ones are good and which ones to stay away from. I'll probably grab the Yokohamas since that's what my dad always bought. I have some time to look around though.

Hey Manda....Wait, before you buy new tires! I have a friend who is a Tire Manager at Firestone!

He told me that he can get me any wheels or tires at cost! I will let you know how much for 2 or 4 tires!

I like this: Yokohama AVS ES100

Let me know what exactly you want and give me your tire size too!
(I think you got: 215/50R17)...right?

Should be the same as yours, Kong. I REALLY want to wait until I can 4 at once, so that I can get some low-profile tires. Here's the one's I saw that I liked...I'm not sure if these are low-profile or not, though. Would it say or should I just be able to tell?

Hehhehe!!! Mine is actually a "55" (205/55R16)...if you stay with the "50"...it will look lower than mine.

The "55" already look low profile for the Yoko ES100...the "50" will really make it look really low profile for sure. I think you will be happy with the "50".

You can go lower to like the "45"...the ride will be a little rougher, but the "45" will give you the best handling thou!

I think your ride come with 215/50R17 stock?

So...you want me to price you the Pirelli 215/50R17 (P7000) tires instead of the Yoko ES100? Later!

Pirelli P700

See if he can price both. As long as they are both good tires, I'll end up going with whatever is cheaper. I'll need an installation cost, too.
It maybe next month or even January before I can do this, but I need to see how cheap I can get a good set for.

I got laid off Nov 1st. I can still get you a good deal on tires up there though. Just call Tony up there (940)243-6264 and tell him what the best price you found was and he will beat it,

OK...My friend can get a Low Profile Bridgestone Potenza RE750 TL 215/45R17 (87W) for about $125.00 (including mount/disposal/valve/balance) + tax...they are excellent tires...very high grade! The pictures shown here are not the actual size or shape...but it does have the same thread pattern and rubber!

TireRack sell them for $139.00+s/h!
