It is private property, but I guess the people didn't want any trouble and just left. I was still inside and found out after everyone left that the DPD ran us off. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure the cops would've left us alone
if we didn't "incite" them into action.

They've visited out meets in the past and just
came and went - no hassles.

It was just bad karma that the cops heard
that 240 peel out and blamed it on Jason.
That was all they needed to put the clamp down.

They already had it in their heads that we were
a bunch of "street racers." Remember the annoucement?
It's pretty hard to fight a pre-conceived idea.

Seximagtr is right...that was private property and
we had permission to peaceful assembly, but when
you have 4 Blue and White Crown Vics crawling up
arse, what are ya gonna do?

Big Thanks!

Hey you guys! Thanks for getting things together. It was a pleasure meeting you. Everyone has given wonderful compliments. We looked at the police situation as an excitement rather than a let down. So no regrets. But you're right that the location was private property, but arguing with them indefinitely would have caused more petty ticketing since they already had their minds made up.

Kudos to y'all!

Regards,

Well since Mondo's owns the place, whoever you're contact is there, get him out there and tell him to get the po pop out hehe... Of course the peeling out screws the whole idea of private property over... Thanks god the place sponsering us is owned by a constable lol... Good luck guys.

Wrong dude!
Mondo's is a lease tenet along with Starbucks,
Crate and Barrel and Restoration Hardware.
However, as such they still control who they want
there along with the owners.

The owners of that property is the same outfit
that owns the Galleria. They practically own that
entire strip of land right there at Noel & Alpha.

As an aside, they are the 3rd biggest tax payers
in all of Dallas county. Thats why you see so many
Crown Vics in that area due to the street gang activity
in those run down apts across the street from the
Galleria.

Getting back to the point, all we need next time is
a written statement from Mondo's management authorizing
us to be on there property for the meet.

It's a shame it's had to come to this after 5 months of
meets....

Oh well, on the bright side...starting in May I plan on moving
our meet location to our summer spot on Lake Grapevine.

Ya'll will really enjoy that!

Has anybody talked to Mondo's about what happened, or did they even know about what had happened.

Dude, I'm the meet coordinator.
I'm the one that has the contacts within
Mondo's.

Ever since I chose Mondo's as our winter
location, they have been more than supportive
of our events.

I'm in the process of talking with not
only Mondo's, but also SETEC Security
to get to the bottom of what happened.

I have a pretty good idea though!

Oh yeah!
It'll be a blast...

Albert, Patrick and I toyed around with the
idea back in the TopNotch days, but it
never got off the ground.

Now, that we are NvUs and have such good
turn-outs for the meets, I think we'll be able
to pull it off and have fun doing it!

I'll have more information for you at the
April meet at Mondo's.
