Question So.....what do you think??

Did my first Dyno ever today on my car. What do you think? Are these good or bad numbers. Remember, I am still new to this. Everyone there seemed to be impressed with my torque values. They also said I was running a little lean. What can I do to fix that?? My friggen TCS kicked in on the second run (guy said too much torgue)......they forgot to turn it off. Here are some movie clips as well. I should have started the first on about ten seconds later. The last one is the best one.

Dyno Run #1 - 7.08 MB
Dyno Run #2 - 7.05 MB
Dyno Run #3 - 6.92 MB

Not bad.

As far as running a little lean, that means that ur car is burning more CO2 than fuel. Most cars run lean at first. As far as fixing it, I have the slightest idea how.....hehe.

hehe, the best was is get a new fuel pressure regulator. It's easy and cheap. Also get a good Air/Fuel monitor, that way you know exactly what the car is doing. What was the temperature inside where the car was at, because during the summer my car runs lean anyway, but right now in the winter my car is running a little rich so it also depends on the temperature the car is operating in. After I get the turbo put in I want to find a place to install an S14 Nismo fuel rail and injectors so it compensates for the increase in air, and I plan on getting a new fuel regulator once I get the money after the exterior of the car gets done.

What did they charge you for the dyno runs?

Jayman, I'm a little surprised at those hp #'s.
Considering a 15% drivetrain loss, your whp
(without mods) should be 204, if you consider
Nissan's 240 claimed crank hp. Your pulls show
205 and 207 respectively. Not much of an increase
considering the intake and exhaust. Then again,
you have an automagic so if I calculate a 17% loss
the numbers look better.

I know there are a lot of variables that go into
dyno'ing a car, however I would suspect those
#'s to be a little higher considering your intake
and exhaust mods, more like in the 210-215 hp
range.

Your tq. #'s are good, so evidently you've got the
kick down low but up top is a different story...

On a side note, kudos for spending the time
and money to get it dyno'd in the first place!

Also, for a frame of reference, do a search
under "dyno" under Altimas.net to see where
you stand with everybody else's 3.5.

I was also hoping for better numbers. I figured I was losing 17-20% being an auto, but still I was hoping to hit 210-212. The guy that was running all of the cars said mine was pretty hard to dyno. He also said my car was really torquey! On run two the car actually jumped a little (hence TCS / ABD kickin' in) when he stomped on it. The guy was trying to cruise into third gear and then stomp on it for the dyno runs. On run two when he stomped on it, it downshifted back into second and jumped on the dyno. The guy was pretty impressed. I will look for some dyno numbers, but I am not sure if there are too many dynoed autos out there.

Well, if your expectations were dashed with these dyno
numbers, you can always petition the Senate for more
mods...

I'm thinking a proposed Bill for a UDP or a Racepipe would
pass, don't you?

Both of those would be really tough to pass by the senate here.........partial warranty killers so the wife would not like. I wanna do the UPD eventually......probably wait until I hit 36K or 50K though. Gonna do some serious thinking and research before I do anymore performance mods.

Warranty Killers are in the eye of the dealership. Courtesy Nissan here in Richardson, will install the UDP and race pipe and still warranty anything that maybe associated w/ those parts.

I feel better about my numbers now. 3.5 Auto Stock Alty's are getting about 193-194 HP and 207-210 TQ from what I could find searching yesterday. That gives me 12-14 HP and 11-16 TQ gains!! Much nicer!! Without going major (i.e. NOS or Turbo), the UDP and race pipe are about all that is left (as far as available parts right now) as far as performance mods correct Alex?? I guess I will work a little more on the suspension / handling for now.
