Another Austin Meet in March...

We had such a blast last October, we're planning another one this March.
The "official" date is March 18, 2006. Just like last time, we'll caravan down
early in the morning and caravan back in the evening, or possibly spend the night if we get enough people going down. We'll meet at Zilker Park like last time and grill, drink, and socialize.

Who's down...???

Kong, what are you bringing this time?
I'm bringing the same stuff as before; plates/plastic silverware/cups.
The "official" sign up sheet is over on the Houston Altima guys website.

I got bad news guy. I won't be able to go to the Austin meet this coming weekend. I spent the entire last weekend helping my dad work on his A/C unit in his truck and also trying to remove the transmission from the 3000 GT. We still can't get the tranny out yet. It looks like we might have to remove the whole friggin engine to get to the tranny. I am stuck helping my dad repairing the 3000 GT tranny for another weekend. I am still sore from last night!

I talked with the Houston guys and because of the bad weather that's going to hit Austin this weekend, we've mutually decided to cancel the Austin Meet for the 18th and re-schedule it for a Saturday in April. I'll post up the date
once it's been decided.

Kong, this should give you plenty of time to handle your tranny issues...

Update: The Mitsubishi 3000GT Auto-Tranny

The torque converter was bad and the front clutch (?) worn out on the automatic.

Shop quoted price of $700+ to rebuild the front clutch and torque converter. The shop said there are no guarantees on the rebuild, because other parts might be bad inside that is not obvious right now.

Right now, we are still shopping for a cheaper repair shop.
