Upgrading 15X6 wheels to 15X7

Just wondering if anyone has upgraded from a 15X6 (stock '97 SE-R wheel) to a 15X7 wheel (I'm choosing Rota Slipstreams). I'm thinking about making this upgrade and am wondering if it will increase turn in and handling and grip. I have Falken Azenis 205/50/15 now which are kinda wide for my 6" wheel, and would keep the exact same tire and tire size on the Rotas. I'm running coilovers, S/T bars, with e-bay braces going soon. Its mainly a street car, but will likely start autocrossing some early next year. Thanks for any advice.

the +1 inch wheels arent going to make much difference
yeah, they are an inch wider
but what matters is the tire contact patch, not the wheel width
of course, with a wider wheel you can fit a wider tire. but in your case its only 1 inch
however the rotas will be much lighter overall than your stockers, which will give you less unsprung wieght

The wider rim will stiffen up the tire sidewall and make turn-in more precise. If you plan to get a wider tire sometime, it would be best to get a 35mm offset instead of the stock 40mm.
