The stock wheel offset is 40mm. If you get wider than stock (6.5 in) rims, you should get a smaller offset, typically 35mm. If the car is lowered, this will keep the tires from hitting the struts, but generally will not hit the fender. In some cases, though, the rear fender lip needs to be rolled under.
Sometimes 7.5 in wide rims are a problem, though. My 16x7.5 rims have 32mm offset, and the tires hit the rear fender when the car goes over shallow dips like at intersections.
