Bumpstop

I'm a moron and don't know jack about suspension. I keep reading that when throwing in performance shocks and springs you have to cut the bumpstops. What the hell is a bumpstop and what does it do? Pictures would be nice. Thanks

I think what they're talking about is merely a "stop" that limits the upward travel of the suspension...

its a soft foam thing that sits ovet the shaft of the shock. When the shock bottems out this prevents metal to metal contact. www.motivational.net sells koni bumpstops. These are better than cutting your stock bumpstops.
