Unhappy Help Me Please

so yeah, im arguing with a less than intelligent friend about why im saving up money to get the TEIN coilovers. he doesnt understand why i would pay over $1000 to get something that cheaper coilovers e.g. arospeed would do. he doesnt see any difference. ive told him that i want performance in my car, and he says the cheapos would do the same.

so im asking for my fellow board members' help in convincing my idiotic friend. this thread will also end up helping more newbies by showing them the difference between performance and simply being able to adjust your cars ride height.

thanks in advance

p.s. - i find it funny, because every single day he asks me, whats the different between this and this? or whats the difference between a turbo and a supercharger? or misc. questions like that. sometimes he listens, sometimes he doesnt. i know my shit, and he doesnt have any clue about anything, yet he still tries to tell me im wrong. i have weird friends, dont i?

thanks again guys (and girls)

Well for one the aerospeeds may not be made out of a quality material... this may cause stiff ride, spring sag, noise, etc. Teins are TRUE coilovers.... not just springs and coilover sleves. Being TRUE means that the Dampers and the springs are designed as a pair to work together... the size of the spring the rate the coil etc. All these factors allow for the system to work together. Aerospeeds are not matched to the dampers and depending on the spring rate may blow your shocks prematurely. Im no expert but i will tell you i love my Tein's and they are worth every stinking penny!

Let's for a minute pause and think about why people would pay more for anything when there is a cheaper alternative. Plain and simple you get what you pay for. This isn't always true but for the most part it is. Think about it why would Tein dare to sell you a setup for over a 1000 when arospeeds can be bought for 200? Because they know they have the quality. Tein isn't a huge respected name for no reason. Nak1 said that they are a working system you know how the springs work with the dampers as opposed to mixing and matching dampers to which there is always a down side either bottoming out, uncomfortable ride, or damaging equipment and other stuff that Nak said. Tein is one unit so you eliminate the mixing and matching. Experienced drivers on this forum that have them seem to be agreeance of their quality. What he needs to do is take a look at the mother of B14 suspension threads http://www.nissanforums.com/showthre...ibach+problems do some research and learn
