ok well this is the deal, my struts are shot. They have been shot for over a month. Would it be possible to use the springs again or do you think those are gone now too?

Are you using drop srings or stock springs? If you are using stock spings just get some new dampers, your springs should be fine. If you are using drop spings be prepared.. they eat up dampers like mad. Id say get rid of them.
