Brake Caliper

Yesterday i painted my brake calipers, and forgot to tighten one of the caliper pin bolts all the way (i only tightened it by hand). After hearing a scratching / grinding sound for a few days i checked the calipers and sure enough one of the bolts was missing.

Was the grinding sound the caliper rubbing against the disc, if so how bad would the damage be? BTW, There is no visible damage that i can see.

thx
