or is it better to just buy a stock sr20det engine ?? and would sr20det stock be bettr than ka24de turbo?

I sent you a detailed PM. I forgot to mention a few things: you don't need to rebuild a KA24DE to kick ass with turbo and etc. A lot of people attain 300-350hp and more on stock internals. You definitely need to rebuild at 400hp though.
Rebuilding a KA24DE with performance internals can cost from $1,000 to 2,000. If you go this route, you probably have a badass turbo setup in mind. I run 13psi of boost all day on stock internals, and my motor purrs along happily.
A cost analysis is useful here. Let's assume you can get a stock SR20DET installed into your 240SX for $2,500, which most people can't. $2,500 is cheap for an SR. Well, turboing your stock motor can cost between $1,000 and $2,000, depending on your setup. I have under $2,500 into my car right now, and I bought a LOT of goodies. Just look at my signature. Making that stock SR20DET (which has already cost you $2,500) run as fast as my car would take probably $2,000 more. You would need a bigger turbo, higher flow manifold, full exhaust, FMIC, better injectors, better fuel pump, race clutch, management, and a limited slip diff. I have all of these myself. I think the bottom line cost comparison between the SR and KA is that they are both great building blocks, but because of the high initial price of the SR20, the KA24 is a cheaper option.
