Throttle Cable for S13 SR swap (problem ?) and other SR swap concerns

I was reading the Sportcompact car article on the SR swap and they said "Neither the U.S. nor the Japanese throttle cable is long enough to follow the stock routing, but the Japanese cable will stretch straight across the engine compartment." what do they mean ... the stock ka24de throttle cable will not reach the throttle body ? Can anybody confirm this ? How did you guys get a throttle cable hooked up to your sr's ? (for those of you with sr's). I also wanted to ask if this is the right part for blocking off the AIV http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...Category_Code= , i also just want to replace the clutch with a factory like unit (or one that will just handle a tad more output , not entirely sure how much a stock sr20det clutch can hold )http://www.courtesyparts.com/J30_clutch.html ... will these parts (including the throwout bearing , dust boot , alignment tool and the DE pressure plate be direct replacements ? ) or should i just go ahead and spend a few more bucks and get the exedy stage 1 kit . (all i'am really looking forward too is about 250ish or so whp) Just really strapped for cash and a turbo upgrade is not likely until a bit after the swap.

Hey man! I have been down that road before. What I did for the throttle cable is I used the old KA cable a made a new braket out of the old one. I don't know if you took metal shop at all but its pretty simple if you have a welder. But the angle of the cable is criticle in that it doesn't rub the sides of the grouve it goes into. My bracket had to be offset to the drivers side of the engine a little because it is at an angle. I just started my car today for the first time. But all the big help that I needed was from Heavy Throttle, which is where I bought my engine. But I got the Spec Stage 2 clutch. It's made of Kevlar the stuff they use on the tanks. If you want a beefer clutch go with any of the kits stage 2 and up. Stage 1 is like a normal clutch, but the good brands with the good materials last longer than most of the generic. But good luck!!!

yeah i made a new bracket
also theres somthin about takin the wheel off the throttebody and modifying it but the bracket seemed easier
