I was wondering what this part is...

The cap which is below the oil dipstick in this photo...near the front of the valve cover? I Dont have it on my engine.

If you are talking about the piece with the wiring harness coming out of it, with the wire that runs across the front of the engine, then that's the Crank Angle Sensor (CAS). If you don't have this and your engine supplier is supposed to provide it, you need to raise some hell. If they don't provide it, be prepared to shell out $300 for a new one or $200 for a used one.

SUP IM PAULY FROM CONCEPT ILLUSIONS IN INDIANA PENNSYLVANIA. JUSTFINALLY GOT SPARK. BUT I NEED TO KNOW IF ANY ONE HAS REPLACED OR TIMED A CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I NEED SOME HELP, SO IF U EVER DID ONE OR YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM OR HALL-EFFECT SWITCHES GET BACK AT ME'
