tach install into 89 240 sr20det

i have a 89 240 and put in the sr20det. my stock tach doesnt work. so i bought a lunar tach. does anyone know where to splice in the green tach signal wire? i tried to splice into the yellow/red wire from computer to dash but no signal. and also, what wire do you cut? both or just one? i dont know how much pulse it is.

I had the same problem with my tach. You have the right wire. You just need
a tach adapter, because the tach is not designed to work with a direct fire ignition. You can get it from auto meter. Both wires should be cut.

I had a 5" autometer tach, i bought the tach adapter and its still wouldn't work, anything other problems that usually occur, since then i put the jdm tach back in and that wont work either. Cant figure it out.
