Okay I haven’t ran my car in about three months (it’s a 240sx with a sr20det swapped), I got a new battery for it. The pc680 little batteries and well I am a complete moron and hooked it backwards!!!! And if that wasn’t enough then tried to start the engine with the positive hook to the negative. I’m a moron. It wouldn’t start. I’m a moron. So then I hooked up the battery the right way. I’m a moron. Now it won’t start, it turns over but doesn’t start. None of the power accessories work, nothing, lights, blinkers, radio, nothing. I’m a moron. How much damage do you think I did?

It's likely you fried the ECU. Also, check all the fuses.
Check the fuses. My friend and I were going somewhere and his Eclipse threw the alternator belt and it went on battery power for a while but died in a parking lot about a mile from our hotel room. It was a new battery so if it rested a little, it would start for a little bit so I tried to stick his battery in my Honda and use my alternator to give it enough charge to get us both home. Both cars are top but to one side terminals but his are swtiched relative to mine so in a dark parking lot, I hooked them up backwards and blew an 80amp battery fuse in my car. I eventually got a new fuse, charged his battery and got us both home but it was a pain. I don't know Nissans that well yet, but check your fuses, there's probably one setup specifically to protect against that.

not exactly sure, it could be anything. my friend has a supra and he did the same thing and it screwed up the engine and he had to get a new engine. just hope it doesn't come to that.
Well today I replaced the 75-watt fusible link, now the power comes on inside the car, lights work, turn signals, heater fan, but still doesn't start. It still turns over and trys to start but doesn't fire. I am thinking I killed the ecu. Can I somehow test the ecu to see if it is fried?
Thanks

When you first turn the key before engaging the starter, do the indicator lights come on briefly and then go off? (This is normal so you can check whether any bulbs are burned out.) If they don't come on or if they stay on, then the ECU has a problem.
Today I tried again to get the car to start. I checked all fuses,(the ones by the battery, inside the car by the driver door, I think thats all the fuse locations) , changed the ecu, changed the batter, and even tried to jump it. Still wont start, then we pulled out a spark plug and checked to see if we where getting spark. No spark. I grounded the spark plug with a the ground wire. No spark. What are the common trouble shooting I should do for no spark? Or a way to check if the coils are getting power?
my friend just did the same thing. its not the ecu its your igniter chip.it shorts it out and burns one of the wires on the inside. I might be able to fix it for you.
the chip is on the wire harness.it could be on either side of the engine depending on who wired the swap. it looks like a little box with plugs on both sides. I can try to fix it by rewiring the insides of the chip. not sure how long it will last but I,ll do it for $20+ shipping. that beats $120 for a used chip on ebay.
