Questions about buying used s13

Hi to all! This is my first post and as you can see by my nick I'm from Italy, so excuse my english! I'd like to buy a used s13 silvia coupé with sr20det engine but I don't have any ideas about what to look out in order to judge the engine's wealth. Can you explain me how can I be sure the engine won't fail in a few miles? And, what is in your opinion the limit mileage for this kind of car, even regardless to the body? Thanks!!!

P.S.: I tried to find an answer to these questions in older posts but without success!

Before you buy, get a mechanic to do a compression test and a leak down test. Check for oil leaks everywhere too.

Thanks 4 the help, Joel! Even if it' possible I'll find one far from home (here in italy there are very few of them) and I'll have to control by myself everything...
