the 240 has a bolt pattern of 4x114.3 and the 300zx of 5x114.3
1. you can redrill holes in your 300zx calipers
2. you can do a 5 lug conversion on your 240sx. if you do the 5 lug conversion, you also open yourself to a WHOLE LOT wider selection of rims.
SCC's nov. 2002 issue has an in-depth article on this. basically, you need 300ZX brakes, 300ZX rear hubs, S14 front spindles (base model is fine) S14 SE 5-bolt front hubs (just order new ones)and new brake lines. if you want to take the aluminum upright off the Z's rear suspension you have to switch your rear shocks for ones that fit the Z.

Please dont drill holes in your calipers... drill holes in the rotors
i thought about that and i didnt' get it.. i was like "isn't it supposed to be rotors?? what's calipers got to do with 4 or 5 bolt patterns??" so i went and looked it up from a very reliable sourcec and he said, "calipers" so i put that. guess he was wrong =p

you may need to alter the mounting points for the caliper on US spec 240's (i dont know what kind of brakes they have - jdm match up) - he might have been talking about that.
But you definately have to redrill the rotors for 4 stud unless you replace the whole hub with 5 stud.
The USDM calipers are I dentical to the Skyline 4 piston calipers, and you do not need to modify the mounting points; they will bolt directly to S14 5 lug spindles/hubs.
To do the swap on a 91 you will need:
Any year 300ZX turbo or non turbo Calipers (some years come in 26mm aluminum/steel or 30mm aluminum/steel)
A set of new or used rotors and pads from the same year as the calipers
S14 front 5 lug spindles and hubs
300ZX N/A rear hubs (you unbolt the 300zx hubs and bolt them to you existing S13 spindles........you can use the 300zx aluminum spindles also but this will increase the difficulty and cost of the swap because you need to alter the mounting point for the strut, AND, you have to use 300zx rear struts for the aluminum spindle to work.)
A set of 5 lug rims (I used N/A 300ZX rims, you will need a 5 to 10 mm spacer to get them to fit up front. The rears how ever will bolt directly to your 91 hatch with out spacers)
4 S14 Strut bolts (then you will have to redrill your S13 struts to the size of the S14 strut bolt, since they are larger by about 1mm on both sides, this is very important to acheiving correct camber)
4 300ZX brake lines front and rear ( you can use 300ZX OEM lines, aftermarket steel braided lines, or Z32 to S13 conversion lines sold at Heavythrottle.com)
Dot 5 brake fluid
You will need to modify your ebrake cables (splice the 300zx cables to you USDM cables, not hard but trial and error has a lot to do with getting the mounting point right)
S14 ball joints pressed into your S13 lower control arm, these are hard to find, Carquest sells them for $31 a piece (you can do this yourself or have a shop press them out, I did it in less than an hour using a hammer and a 36mm socket as my press, saved myself $40)
Not necessary, but a good idea to complement your larger brakes would be to get a Brake Master Cylender from a 300zx. The 1 1/6 MC is the largest and will provide the best brake feel from what Ive heard.
Thats all I can think of for now, Im finishing the rear brakes on my car today, so Im sure Ill have more to say later.
