hey guys,

I've got a decent deal lined up on a red top S13 SR20DET. I'm planning to do a build on this thing, and I'd like to see it land somewhere around 300-350HP. Ive heard some mixed stories about the differences between the black top and the red top engines... and Im not looking for someone to list them for me, I simply need to know if the stock bottom end of a red top S13 will hold together at that kind of horsepower (note: this will not be a daily driver), or is a tougher bottom end a manditory investment at that point. Boost wise... probably somewhere around 12-13psi with a turbo upgrade.

read the thread, thanks. outlines the differences between the black/red top S13's which is good to know.

but as I said I wasn't looking for someone to list me the differences... I was moreso looking for info on the strength of the bottom end after engine/boost upgrades to around 350HP

any advice? will it hold together? or is major bottom end work needed at that point.

itle hold just dont run too lean and burn the pistons up.
