i was wanting to upgrade my redtop to a t28 off of the s15 i don't have much money to spend i'm just looking at hitting the 300hp mark i am also looking at getting 550cc injectors instead of the 370cc that are in right now. i was wondering if the t28 was the one with the .86 a/r and not the .63 a/r i know it's a 60 trim 60mm and is supposed to be good up until 320 hp. the setup i have right now on my car is hks 3" downpipe, magnaflow 3"cat, megan racing 3" cat back, i am running 9lbs of boost. I just want to know what it will take to hit this mark off of the stock engine while still being safe and not spending a lot of money, i just want it to be beneficial without wasting money. My local shop went out of business so i won't have a place to get the ecu flashed and tuned and if anybody knows of shops that will do this in the northwest idaho region please let me know.
I was looking at getting one of those and i have heard of people having problems installing them. It shouldn't really be that much a problem should it? as long as i am good with wiring. I heard most of the problem is if you have a safc... i could have heard wrong correct me if i am.
fuck an SAFC, they blow balls, i don't care what anyone says. get an enthalpy tune at least, or use something better. i've never heard of anyone having a good tune with an SAFC. just look around and try to find something better than that.
^^exactly. I would love to have aem ems but i don't have 2,000. it would be an enthalpy tune i would get there's a shop here in town i found that charges 125 a tune. i just need to find someone to flash my ecu.
ell you don't have to get an AEM system management, there are others out there that are just as good. the GReddy E-Manage is pretty decent for the price, and probably the best one for an SR is the Apex'i Power FC.

The Garrett unit with the .86 A/R that you're interested in is the GT2860RS - 739548-1; the 739548-5 uses the .64 A/R which is better for general street use: less turbo lag.
