boost problem

Has anyone encounter a problem boosting, my car on 1st gear boost's 5, then 2nd boost 10 and 3rd goes to 13 and then just stay at 13? Does the boost controller just keep it at low boost, or can it be adjusted to turn up the boost, if not how can i turn up the boost and have it boosting 13 all the time?

Well, first of all, what is your maximum boost level set to? Let's say it's set to 5 psi. If you're encountering boost spikes of 13, then you've got problems with your boost activator.

If the actuator is OK, then there may be leaks in the hot pipe system; do a pressure check.

If you want the ability to adjust the boost level, buy a boost controller.

the reason it spikes like that is cuz i put a teet on it so i boost alil higher but i thought it would boost like 13 and stay at 13 but if i just put a vaccum on the actuator its always at 5 lbs of boost and i tried connecting a manual boost controller and still just gave me 5lbs. thats why i just left the teet on it so it spikes 5 lbs at first then 10 and 13. I have an electronic boost controller with the solenoid but it has the 3 knobs of balance, low boost, and hi boost, but the hi boost is broken would it still be able to work?

Without looking at your controller, I have no idea if it'll work. You can always install it and see what happens.

The way you're fooling around with high boosts, hopefully you have an FMC on your setup.

I also found out just today it has a exhaust leak somewhere on the hot side. I know its the the gasket for the elbow i thought it might be the gasket between the turbo and the turbo manifold where it bolts on, could that make hesistate or sputter real bad?

If there's a leak in the hot pipe system leading to the throttle body, you'll have boosting problems.

oh ok i see, because 1st gear pulls hard at like 7psi, but once i shift feels like it loses power and then whem im driving a constant speed around 3000 to 4000 rpm, it sputters.
