JDM SR20DET or USDM SR20DE(T)

I am really leaning toward the bluebird swap into my sentra and the price isnt too bad either. The only thing that worries me is, where do i get parts incase they break or when they wear out. Also what about basic tune up parts?

I can also swap in an SR20 engine made in the U.S. and find the parts for it here as well which will save me some headaches but i really want the extras that come with the bluebird.

What should i do?

this would be better off in the Sentra forum, but whatever.

you can swap in the SR20DET, if you want. but remember, the SR20DET that you will be using is AWD, so you'll need a FWD tranny, ECU, etc that comes out of the SE-Rs, G20, and the like.

it's up to you and your budget. i say, sell your car and get a G20, SE-R, or what not that already has the SR20DE, so you can either swap in the SR20DET or turbo the current SR. but most FWD SR20DE owners recommend that you swap in the SR20DET, instead of throwing a turbo on the SR20DE. it's less of a hassle.

SR20DEs are not AWD. they are either FWD or RWD.

SR20DETs, on the other hand, come in either RWD or AWD form from the factory.

why? you know what? i haven't the slightest. i don't know everything. all i know is that there is no factory FWD SR20DET. it's not hard to find answers. there are A LOT of boards that are solely dedicated to G20, SE-R, NX, etc. owners. go ask them.

why? because you, of all people, should have known that there were no FWD SR20DETs ever made.

how do i know 100% that there are no FWD SR20DETs? because the SR20DETs that are matched up to the FWD SR20DE engines come from the Bluebird SSS and Pulsar GTi-R that ONLY come in AWD.

at least 250 HP with minimal boost. Since i am young and in college, and my parents are paying for the time being, I have money to blow on my car. I have about 1500 saved right now and will be willing to spend about 3-4000 on it.

the easiest answer would be to sell you car and get a 240 so you dont have to worry about "wrong wheel drive" aka FWD and you would have "right wheel drive" aka RWD

They´re plenty of DD Sentras with that HP at low PSI.
Your goal is not so hard, you can go with any 9.5:1 SR20DE and boost it.
Search and you´ll see all your questions has been answered.

Nope. SR20 AWD can only fit in our FWD chassis.

let me clarify for you, so you get it right the first time.

there are only RWD & AWD SR20DETs.

there are FWD, RWD, & AWD SR20DEs.

BIG difference.

There are 2 diffrent block casings for the SR20-longitudinal,and transverse.all front drive Nissans are transverse mount, and all rear drive cars are longitudinal mount.all AWD SR20's are installed in transverse applications.Because of this, they do not interchange
