SR20DET REDTOP OR BLACKTOP

Hey guys whats up, Well ok Im a newbie to the whole nismo worl and I just got a 1990 S13 and I wanna go turbo with it but I dont know weather to get SR20DET Blacktop Or Redtop, I didnt even know they're was a difrence, anyways Can some1 help me out and tell me which one is better to use for daily driving and drag racing, Thank You !

Ive done some search, but it doesnt say anywhere which one is better then the other, so I have to post to see if theres anyone who knows about them.

Remember this forum has more than one page. Search back to about uh..last week? like term said it gets asked at least once a week. all the sr's are the same. the only difference is the VTC found on s14's and s15's. this prevents you from putting some serious power down. Just go with the KA.

yeah what zellx said ka modified dats all. i have an sr and theres really no difference between the engines. ka's are nice they have more displacement.

I think they finally settled this debate. If you got money to throw out, go SR. if you want a good and I do mean good street engine, go with the ka.

I'm thinking about going CA.

after havin the ka and switching to the sr i def would recomend the ka no doubt or a nice rb if u have the cash

yes the ka24e in the 89-90 and the ka24de for the91 and later models search for hours read old posts and learn then post things not answered (not many)
