Where to buy the SR20DET

I am the current owner of a 2002 Sentra SE-R Spec-V, but have unfortunately fallen into the trap of car buying insanity. My plans involve an S14 240SX and then the SR20DET conversion, but my real problem doesn't come down to finding the right car but finding the right engine.

My question is, who is the most reliable dealer of the front clips for the S14 Silvia's? I am not worried so much about cost as I am reliability. This is going to be my "fast" car, so my plans will go beyond the sr20det, but for now i want a solid engine, low miles, with all the wiring, ecu, etc.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks all, peace.

let me tell you this first. unless you plan on changing out your tach, speedo, electronics, RHD conversion, front end conversion, fenders, hood, etc, don't get a front clip. you don't need to spend that extra cash to get it. just get yourself a motorset. a motorset comes with just about everything excluding the fenders, hood, front bumper, steering wheel, etc. they usually come with a lot of the electronics to where you can still change out your tach or what not.

now, where are you located? so i can get a better idea of what kinds of shops are out there for you. unless you don't care where the shop is.

Well, depending on the difference in price and whether or not I can scrounge the parts for a JDM setup for the S14, the best bet would be either to a) stay S14 front and just get the engine/wiring/ecu/etc or b) get the clip and have the extra parts available. Again though, this is only the homework/sourcing phase of the project. Just getting the info, putting it together, seeing if it is financially feasible and where the parts can be gotten. Thusly your info is appreciated, but I am also looking at this whole setup taking place three or four months down the road.

As far as where I am from, Toledo Ohio is one cold hell, and I am its denizen. There are two import shops in town but I have nothing to show from either of them that would make me want to go there. Besides, I have worked enough with cars to not be daunted at all with the idea of doing the swap. Its merely a matter of having all the right parts at the right time. I.E. the "homework" stage.

Regardless, as this is my first foray into the 240SX arena, I am only here to learn what I can, and I thank anyone who is willing to help.

Peace, thanks.

well, if you want to learn more about the 240SX, this isn't the best place to start. where you want to go is the 240SX.org forums or www.nissaninfiniticlub.com

let me ask you. what are your plans front end wise, if you have any at all. because the USDM S14A is the same as the JDM S14A and the USDM S14B is the same as the JDM S14B. so you don't have much of an option, lol. the difference in the two styles is very minimal. the differences are the headlights, shape of hood, and shape of fenders, as well as frontturn signals and all that, but that's not much to worry about.

S14A has the round/circular headlights, i forgot the exact name.

S14B has the "angry eye" look, zenki, i believe it was.

i don't know of any shops in Ohio, so i'm not much help there. but shops here in CA (if you don't mind having it shipped to your door from out of state) would be AfterDark Tuning (one of the guys/moderators from the NICO forums started that company), Unstable-Hybrids, RollHard, and Phase2MotorTrend, to name a few.

try www.autowerksmotorsport.com they are in michigan just 20 minutes from detroit. they did my swap with a s13 motor and upgraded the turbo and manifold. i'm doing well over 300 ponys to the wheel, on a stock bottm end! They are experts in nissan sr20det swaps and hondas.
