s15 boost?

I have an s15 with the original black top with the 6 speed gear box. My current mods are an intake, exhaust and I now put in a larger front mount intercooler with 2.5" piping the intercooler is about 23"x8"x3". The original boost setting on the car is 0.6bar and I have wound it up to 0.9bar now since I have done the intercooler upgrade however the engine seems to detonate at this boost setting. People say to upgrade the fuel pump and install a regulator. I was wondering if a simple apexi safc would solve the problem, or is it that the injectors have reached there limit.
Any Advice will be greatly appreciated

Running at .9 bar (13 psi) will probably require more fuel then your stock fuel pump can provide. Upgrade the fuel pump to a Walbro 255 lph along with an adjustable regulator would be a smart move. Adding an Apexi safc would also be a good addition; this way you can better manage the fuel system.

The stock 370 cc injectors may be close or at their limit when running at .9 bar. You might want to consider going with larger injectors if you're going with higher boost levels.

when you upgrade to a larger intercooler your psi will always be a little lower than before.

Actually the stock injectors are 470cc
I have an s15 too and tried running .9 with the same set us as you but with WALBRO FP.
No issues so far but I am getting a unichip and turning up the boost to 1.2 bar,
Suggest some kind of engine management for you too
Better to be safe right?
