sr20det engine questions
two questions
fisrt of all there are small (about 1/4 inch diameter) round metal disks between the rockers and the valve stem. There are two different models one is simply a cylinder and the other is a cylinser with two small tabs on each side. If you look on one side (intake or exhaust) there is always the first model on the first valve then the other model on the second valve then the first model and so on. On the opposite side they are disposed in the same way except starting with the second model. In other words the disposition is a zig zag.
I think that they are made to prevent one valve from turning at the same speed as its sister valve.( the one on the same rocker) The model with the two tabs crates a larger friction and the valve turns slower than the one that has the model with no tabs.
Am I right???
If so can I inverse their disposition when I do my rebuilt to sort of equalize???
Second question: Are the rockers on the intake side the same as the exhaust side???
Does anybody have the plans of the SR20DET???
