Question Intake Cams for SR20

Looking for more information on swapping cams from a 92 Sentra SE-R into a 1995 200sx se-r. I have the Sentra at my disposal until I have ripped every part I desire off it. Any info on if the cams work and how to do it would be a great help. Heard it's a 6-8 hp gain at the wheels. True?

Any more parts I should keep for myself off of the Sentra?!

Yes, this is a popular modification for the low port (B14) SR20DE engine.

Here are the instructions.

Talking

Great! Anything else I need to know? Is there any specific things I need to check for as far as compatability?

Are there any other parts I could use off of the 92 Sentra SER?

beware the hydrolic chain tensioner, its annoying to reset back if u let it pop out too much i remember seeing a link specifically for cam swaps and they showed a little tool they made to keep it from moving at all

Good thing to hear positive input.
I'm doing the install this weekend. I will let you know after a couple of days how it feels. Did it take a couple of days for the computer to adjust?

SR 18 CAM MOD

Ok, I have a SR18 DE (for a GST Sunny) can I change cams and get additional HP with this engine and with which cam. I read on this forum that you can put a SR16Ve head on a SR20VE and get more HP and visa versa and get more displacement for the SR16VE. Basically i want to know what cam work i can do to my SR18DE.

Best mod is to swap in an SR20. , keep your tranny, though... the SR18 has shorter ratios. An SR16VE head and computer box swap is a possibility, but you'll need a heckuva lot of work, and it's very very very hard to find one.

What crappy luck!!! I pulled the cam and found out it was trash! The lobes were severely worn, so...............

WANTED: Used cam in good condition from 90 to 92 Sentra SER.

Looking there as well, thanks. Looking for the inside track Best I found there so far is 65 shipped. Of course, if I comb over "pick a part" I may be able to find one for 22 bucks!
