I have a 200SX R14, a couple of months ago I started hearing a knocking noise through the engine, it was diagnosed as the thrust bearing, this was replaced and was OK for about 2000miles then it started again, I had the clutch and bearing replaced again but this made no difference, the noise only occurs when the car is in gear and there is torque on the engine, when idling it is fine, when the clutch is down it is fine when the clutch is down and in gear it is fine but as soon as I touch the throttle the noise starts, it is coming from under the engine and sounds awfull, like an old diesel, has anybody got any ideas as the garage has drawn a blank.

LSD or axles maybe. I busted a set of rings, clicked all the time - same with the rod bearing.

Put it up on a lift and reproduce

Same problem just put in a jdm sr20de and be done with it. That's what I am doing.
