It's really going to depend on what you have now..and what you want....you will need not only the motor and tranny...but axles, clutch, wiring harness, ecu...thats if it is a 5 speed...if its an auto..add into that the pedal config under the dash..clutch pedal, brake pedal, clutch cable..etc.

And can you do this yourself.? or have someone to help you do the swap.? Or do you need a shop to do it...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

just wondering what the most cost efficient way of swapping my car to manual and getting more power to it is? first off, to introduce myself, i have a 97 200SX auto GA16 engine. want to swap to manual and go turbo. i was thinking of two ways to go about to do it.

1) swap sr20de and manual tranny swap, either T28 or T3/T04e turbo (i want a whp range of 200-300).

or

2) swap sr20det and manual tranny from SE-R. stick with T25 for a while and switch to T28 or T3/T04e.

what do you think would be the cost efficient. i would have my bodyshop do it for me since ive never done this big of a project before unless anyone in so cal wouldnt mind helping me out.

does anyone know how much the DE and manual tranny would be if i sourced in so cal (probably sr20dev)?

thanks.

just a thought..but there are a few se-r's all the time on ebay...they sell anywhere from 2500-4000...but u gotta think about shipping..but even if you ship it across the country you are still saving an ass of money. only downside is unless it's close to you..u cant test drive it.

Have you ever thought about swapping in a Level 10 Automatic transmission? You can get one for $2864 and a stall converter for $400 (made for your application). The transmission comes with a throttle oriented shiftkit, super pump, upgraded valve body, and some other goodies. The best thing about it, is it's made to hold 600hp and 500ft. lbs. tq. Just give Sam @ Level 10 a call for more info. Tell him Dan sent ya.
