Hello friends, I have a little doubt, whe I start my car, specially al morning, oil light takes like 1 or 1 and a half second to go off, it`s that normal, i`m running castrol 20w50 with a fram oil filter, this oil filter doesn`t have the special vavlve that keeps the oil pressure in the engine, please let me know if it is for the oil and filter i`m ussing or if there`s something I should take care of right now before something happens to my engine, Old US SR20DE died on my cuz of an oil pressure lost, cuz the oil pump houssing got durty with some silicon, so I`m a little scared about another engine to die on me

Fram filters are really low quality. The drainback valve doesn't work well so the filter empties rather quickly after the engine is shut off. Then when you start up, it must fill before there is oil pressure. Go with a quality filter like Mobil1 or WIX.
How bout Bosh, I`ve heard that they are good, but I`ll look at your advice, thanks bro

Ok the Fram isn't the greatest, but it works ok. OEM Nissan filters. I've only used others out of desperation.
But seriously. 20w50?!?! Are you for real? I used that grade on my 1976 Mini 1275e. That stuff doesn't belong in an SR20, even if it is castrol who make decent stuff. SR's have really narrow oil passages, especially the tubes that feed the cams. Go at least down to 10w30, you can even do 5w30. Better to leak a bit if that's the case.
Thanks bro, i`ll do that, when I put that oil into my sr20 was because of my low budget, in that time, a install the jdm sr20de and put that oil, but never again, promisse

Word. Best to change it more often the next few times too. Your SR will thank you. Cheers ~B
