SR16VE Redline

I searched SR20forum.com and everyone says that the SR16 redlines at 8.2K. I was just wondering if there is a different version beside the N1. I was playing Gran Turismo 2 and you can buy a '98 Nissan Sunny VZ-R. From the specs it looks like it has an SR16VE. 1598cc, 172hp, 12(?)tq. But when you race it, the redline is clearly at 9000rpm. If there is a version that redlines at 9k, I want it!

some of the redlines in the GT series are off by a little, dunno. in reality i think i'd be scared. when i rode in my friends CRX and it hit 8k (b16) i could swear i was gonna catch a piece of flywheel to the chest, be neat to explain the scar tho.

Yeah, they probably raised it for the game so that the cars' performance was realistic.

it frevs to just over 8200 and although it might worry some it puts a smile on my face. B16's SR16's they are all made for these revs so why not use them, thats the way i look at things.

Took my friends VTI crx out last night B16 engine(running 163 HP), the only dif between our cars is that his power delivery comes in at 6 great fun to drive. I ended up racing him in the pulsar

I had me and my friend and my car already weights about 300 Kg's more then his plus his is stripped out and he pulls about 2-3 car lengths to 100ish

Now i think taking my friend out of the car will allow me to keep with him. Any passengers in my car make it suffer big time.

I've seen a vid of a mates VZR in New Zealand hitting redline and it wasnt as far as 9 grand. If I can find it I'll post up again.

Now how does this thread exactly belong here when you guys are talking about a car in a video game?

Because if the video game were accurate, I would be interested in swapping for an SR16VE.

you'd want to swap in the sr16 only if it had a 9000rpm redline as opposed to 8200? ricer

Ok now, no need for name calling. Simply the reason I would want I redline so high is for a higher exit speed of each gear. 800rpm makes a BIG difference on each gear's exit speed so don't judge before you know my reasoning. And a ricer is all about show. Who's gonna SEE my redline?

This thread is pointless. Do a search on the sr20forum or something if you want to know what a real VE's redline is. Don't make conclusions of what the redline of a motor will be from a video game.
