Best/Cheapest Places to get JDM Engine?

I searched the forums could not find a real thread on this.

Maybe a sticky with a list of places, loc, price, and experiences with them would be a good idea.

i've delt with soko, but with their NJ? location. i dont think they have a new jersery location anymore, but the i got my jdm (de) for 550 shipped to NC. and it was clean! im talking shiny! but i really think it's all a "luck of the draw" type deal.
i've also delt with k.watanabe corp. i got ripped b/c i had a local co. get me the engine...the local company charged me 1100, at the time i didnt know any better, anyways, i believe they were actually charging about the same price as above shipped...it's held up so far as this is the engine i "race" or more like "rape". the other is a daily driver.
i'd go with soko.

Thanks Harris, Soko told me $395. + $200. for shipping, I'll check the others out too. Are there any places to stay away from?

Stay away from those whom you haven't heard about on this forum or on sr20forum. If you hear of a shop, just put their names in the search field and see if you come up with results on them. Look in the Buyers/Seller Feedback section especially. If you don't come up with any results, ask for anyone who's dealt with the company in question in the Buyers/Seller Feedback section.

Those guys have been getting good reviews. They're down in Columbus. I don't know if they carry FWD SRs. Their site only lists the RWD SRs. I guess a phone call would help clarify that.

Well I got one from soshkin, it arrived today (thats why its F?*!%$% snowing in NY...) Probably won't be able to touch it for a few days. Any tips, tricks, or anything I should know before I get into it? Sort of like the 2 little hidden nuts on the upper oil pan?

I got mine from sr20dev it arrived in like a week and it is clean, 6 mo, 6k mile warrenty. 600 shipped to NH from CA they rock IMO. Chad.

im gonna be picking up a jdm sr20 from soko in chicago. he quoted me $395 picked up.
