clutch decisions, feedback please

i have a 96 200sx ser waiting for the DET swap. the stock clutch is almost totally gone, and i need to install a new one. i have looked at the performance clutch on nopi with a 4 puck disc, and also the centerforce dual friction plate, i think it has 10 puck. anyone got any suggestions for which clutch will work well with a DET swap (ie holding power etc). i had an act street clutch in my 91 mr2 turbo, and was very pleased with the engagement, but the act street disc for the se-r is so expensive, i have a $350 budget. suggestions? thanks- jeff

Just one place I searched for it at... I'm sure you could probably search and find it cheaper.

thanks for the feedback. jgycustoms.com had some good prices also, and i found a company called star clutch, they are local (from alabama) and have relatively cheap prices, and will replace any defects in less than 48 hrs. i have less than a week to make a decision, sunday is the only day i can undertake this project.

I have the clutchnet kit (kevlar/fiber disk) good for 280whp, and feels like the stock one.

There is a company on eBay that sells the ACT Heavy Duty PP and Street Disc for $350 shipped, that is where I got my ACT. I really like the ACT although I have the street disc so I couldn't tell you about the puck. Personally, if I were to swap in a DET, I would use the Xtreme PP and the Street Disc because the pucks are just too harsh for daily driving...of course, this would put you over $350...some help I am

ok. thanks for the advice yall. i went on and order the act street disc with the hd plate. a dude a jgycustoms said it was good for 250 lbs/tq, im nowhere near that right now, maybe after the turbo swap i'll top 250 when i crank up the boost, but thats gonna be a minute, so here i am. any suggestions on the install? i have aquired use of a shop with a lift and air tools, so it should be relatively simple.

Good luck, I had my mechanic do it. I find clutch jobs a nightmare.
