tune up

I have 133k miles on my car and am thinking about replacing the distributor, alternator and plug wires. Should I get factory OEM, or aftermarket, and should I replace any thing else at that mileage?

Definatly get OEM for you ride....I noticed a difference between OEM and aftermarket..what else have you done prior to this? tranny fluid? fuel filter? air filter? intake cleaner? (don't use fuel injector cleaner)

One other question? Your replacing the Alternator? Did you mean distributor rotor?
Unless your having an issue Y replace the alternator?

Ummm, a "tune up" does not constitute replacing the distributor and the alternator.

Tune up means replacing:

1) Distributor cap
2) Plug wires
3) Plugs (NGK BKR-6E)
4) Fuel filter
5) Rotor

Ignition timing is also adjusted when doing the tune up. Set your ignition to 17* BTDC, which is the max timing you can adjust to using 87 octane.

If your distributor and alternator are working fine, you don't need to replace them. Get all OEM items when replacing parts.

On a side note: please do some searching before posting a thread. That way you'll get your answers faster and "flame"-free.

Why shouldn't I use fuel injector cleaner?
Should i get a motor vac done to clean out the deposits, or should I manually clean the throotle body?

Nissan's aren't supposed to have Fuel injector cleaner run through them...Harris knows what you can use but I can't remember what brand it is.....I have all new injectors so I don't really need to worry about it right now...
