I've disconnected my EGR a long time ago and I was just wondering...would disconnecting it slow down how fast my car warms up? I mean, technically, it makes sense, but I just want to make sure before I plug it back in.
The way I understand it, the EGR system recirculates some of the spent gases back to the intake chamber, therefore adding an "impurity" to the fresh air coming in from the intake (basically, less O2). By doing that, it lowers the temperature created by combustion, which therefore contributes to lower NOx levels. I'm sure the increase in temperature without the EGR is not noticeable. There will be no overheating, if thats what you're worried about.

I have noticed a substaital increase in the physical temp of my valve cover since my EGR removal...don't know if it is directly related to the EGR or not but it's quite a bit warmer....engine temp however is NOT up-(according to the guages)
